About DAAPworks
Each year, the DAAPworks event highlights the creative output of the graduating class from the top-ranked College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning at the University of Cincinnati.
What is DAAPworks?
For decades, senior capstone projects have been celebrated during the week leading up to spring commencement. In 2009, however, this annual event was officially named DAAPWorks, adopting a visual identity inspired by Dean Emeritus Robert Probst.
The capstone project represents the final step in a student's academic journey. It is a comprehensive assignment that synthesizes the knowledge and skills acquired throughout their DAAP program. Each project addresses real-world challenges, showcasing the student's readiness for professional practice in their respective field.
One of the defining features of DAAPWorks is the interdisciplinary nature of the projects on display. Students from various disciplines collaborate, breaking traditional boundaries and exploring innovative possibilities. This collaborative approach not only fosters creativity but also reflects the interconnected nature of today’s creative industries.
Since its inception, DAAPWorks has expanded to include both physical and digital exhibits, broadening its reach and accessibility. By integrating both formats, DAAPWorks demonstrates its commitment to embracing modern trends in the creative world, ensuring the work remains relevant, engaging, and accessible to a wide audience across various platforms.
Strategic Futures
Transdisciplinary research and creative work that reshapes our approach to how we live, interact, and enhance our capabilities with others and our built environment happen every day at DAAP. Under the leadership of Dean Tim Jachna, each capstone project now aligns with one or more of our five Strategic Futures, or research capacity areas.
